Graduation (Personal Graduation Plan)

The PGP process has been difficult for campuses and districts to implement.   The difficulty is in the time to insure that the forms are completed and the student needs are being met.  Seawinn has simplified this process through the SeaClass IP™ – Individualized Planning tool.

The PGP within the SeaClass IP™ is designed to meet all of the following expectations.

  • Identify Educational Goals
  • Include Diagnostic Information
  • An Intensive Instructional Program
  • Participation with the parent or guardian
  • Document the innovative methods used with the student

Career and Technology

The Carl Perkins act of 1998 allocates federal funds to states for distribution to local school districts for use in Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs. For funding purposes, it is important for districts to properly identify students who are in CTE “programs” versus students who may be taking a single CTE course.

SeaClass IP™ / CTE coding tool allows districts to map their course and pull the student course records from the student information system.  This facilitates the coding of the  students properly for state and federal reporting.

In the state of Texas, SeaClass IP™ / CTE is associated with the sixteen Career Pathways as defined by the state.  Counselors have found the tool essential when incorporating the mandated 4X4 schedule of individual student’s career pathway.

SeaClass IP™ / CTE has become one of the most popular tools in the SeaClass suite of products.  SeaClass IP/CTE has allowed CTE administrators and campus counselors the time to focus on the child, not the paperwork and coding associated with the CTE programs.

Intervention (RTI)

RtI is a process used by schools to target appropriate research-based interventions based on a student’s needs, monitor student progress, and ensure effective construction in the general education setting. The RtI process can provide data that demonstrates an individual child has received appropriate instruction by ensuring that the vast majority of students were able to master instructional objectives. The RtI tool has all of the components suggested by the National Research Center on Learning Disabilities (NRCLD).

These include:

  •  Monitoring a student’s progress in the general curriculum using appropriate screening or tests (assessments)
  •  Choosing and implementing scientifically proven interventions to address a student’s learning problems
  •  Following formal guidelines to describe which students are not making sufficient progress or responding  to the intervention
  •  Monitoring how the student responds to the intervention by using assessments at least once a week or once every two weeks
  •  Making sure the interventions are provided accurately and consistently
  •  Determining the level of support that a student needs in order to be successful
  •  Giving parents notice of a referral and a request to conduct a formal evaluation if a disability is suspected as required by IDEA.
